This our "Baby Jade" She is a matching numbers- Factory correct, 1 of 944 Only 944 Mustangs were manufactured with these options, color & engine in 1969. Factory door trim tag codes are as follows: Body: {76A} Convertible. Trim: {2A} Black Vinyl and Black Kiwi Vinyl, Standard Interior. Date of Manufacture: {26J} September 25, 1968. (Five days ahead of schedule) Engine: {F} 302 CID V8 with 2/V Carburetor. Transmission: {W} C-4 Automatic. Color: {4} Silver Jade metallic. (Only 1,516 mustang convertibles were painted this color for 1969) She still wears the rare, factory Ford 1969 correct color she came off the factory floor with! Axle ratio: {3} 2.79:1, (Conventional Differential). Plant: Matuchen, NJ. Delivery District: (DSO) {11} Boston, MA. Purchased by original owner January 3, 1969 in Springfield, MA This Mustang was originally factory-equipped with a black manual convertible top with a glass backlight, manual drum brakes & power steering. It also had whitewall tires and wheel covers. I still have the AM Radio and factory wheels and the wheel covers that came on the car when she rolled off the assembly line! Our family adopted her through e-Bay in December of 2006. she was restored to a high standard in 1995-1996 with new floors, etc, and bodywork and paint are flawless. Engine and Tranny were "rebuilt" then too, but exact specs are sketchy. She spent most of her life on Cape Cod, MA, and was restored by her original owner. I purchased it on e-Bay from a "dealer" who specializes in finding and freshening gems like this. He added the Mag-500's, replaced the bumpers, floor mats, rear springs and did some mechanical maintenance. The car was delivered from St. Louis, MO to western NY in January 2007. The seller sent me photos as it was leaving on the hauler, and I had the presence of mind to take my camera when I met the hauler in a parking lot near my house to accept delivery. The top had evidently opened up within the first two hours of the 3-day journey, blowing out the rear window and damaging the top's cables. The first sight of her brought me to tears, but the subsequent insurance settlement is paying for a completely new top... with a glass backlight, just like she wore from the factory! I have replaced the front drums with Disks from MasterPower Brakes, rebuilt the entire front suspension (with accessible grease fittings), added RetroBelt™ retractible 3-point seatbelts all-around, installed a Pertronix Ignitor II unit, retro-look stereo with MP-3 input and hid a small bazooka tube subwoofer in the trunk. She has already won one trophy (out of only three shows so far!). It is fun to put our family of FOUR in and go for ice cream or to the park for a picnic... try that with a Corvette! Thanks for enjoying this rare and special pony. Regards, Bob C.
