Every part got a nice detail, right down to the Timing marks. At this point I wasn't going to cut corners. They sell tapes for this but I think my method is better and super easy to do. The trick is after you paint it rub the indentions with a white crayon. Wipe the excess off the surface than lock it in with clear. A better than factory appearance!

I just tacked the headers back on with 2 bolts for the pic but I'll be damned if that ain't actually starting to look like a real engine again. Hard to believe I only had 13 parts left over and am only missing 3 wrenches somewhere. :) J/K

I know many would disagree with my old school choice of painting the headers white but I think against the Ford Blue and the Red anodized fittings that it really keeps with the patriotic American Pony feel and theme I was shooting for. Certainly not the wildest or flashiest engine dress up out there but certainly unique looking.

I had to remove the huge 7 blade 18" wide oddball fan blade the PO installed so I could finally use a fan shroud again so I also opted to upgrade the spacer to a thermal clutch fan while I was at it. Should free up a few more ponies on the highway along wiht the flow cool disc I added to the back of the waterpump blades when I tore it apart. Still a few more finishing details left but they can wait until the engine gets dropped back into the car a few weeks from now and I get to hook everything back up and see if she fires up or not.

Engine bay finally repainted.

It's just been done so it's a little glossy but should dry to a nice semigloss eggshell color.

Can't wait to drop the engine in. Just have to drop the A arms 1" and put in the new shocks first along with the roller perches.

Fresh out of the paint booth. This is just the base coat and it's a little dusty here.Each part was painted speperately and now getting assembled. Once I get the bulk of the interior done, top on and the engine in we will do a final spray followed by the clear and color sanding.

The paint color I chose has kind of a nice Gunmetal effect to it that the pictures don't do justice to. In the shade it has a very Graphite look to it.
