It was being used as a parts car & I saved it from going to the wrecking yard. After 4 moves & 1 failed business venture I am back in NJ & back working on the Coupe. I have had 1 70 Coupe, 1 69 Coupe, 1 68 GT Coupe, 1 65 Fastback, & now this is my current 69 Coupe. 69 being my favorite of the classic Mustangs. To date I have repaired the l/s rear frame rail, replaced the l/s trunk floor, rear gas tank support panel behind the tail light panel, tail light panel, l/s outer wheel house & the l/s door shell. This car was origionally aqua blue, a color I like a lot more than the current white which is the wors painjob I have ever seen. It also spent some time painted yellow. Just about everything on this car is origional (except the paint) though I am not sure how long it will remain that way. It currently has rust issues, a blown head gasket, or maybe two, and electrical problems. I will probalby spend most of the winter planning on how to save this one, getting started in earnest in the spring. It had rust thru on both lower rear quarters. Put in 2 lower 1/4 panels and did a $2,000 paint job. Drove it little over the next few years till it jumped into reverse one day while warming it up without the parking brake on. Ran over a concrete mixer, and stopped at an 8"x 8" gate post. Gate post won. Did the rear panel repair, farmed out the 1/4 repair and paint. Drove it little after that mainly because of a leaky and slipping FMX. In 1996 I stripped the car down to a shell, had it soda blasted, and took it to the body shop for body work and Porshe Indian red paint. Bored the block .030 over and stroked it with a Scat 3.85 stroke crank. AFR 185 heads, and a Stealth intake up top. Located a C5 trans to swap for the lite weight FMX. A 9 inch with 3.50 gears and traction lok bring up the rear. 13" 02 Cobra disc up front, and 84 El Dorado 10" disc in rear.
