was is the difference between a fastback and a sports roof?

It's the same thing. Ford called it the Sportsroof. Most of us now call it a fastback.

yeah, i couldnt see any visual differences so i was in question.

There is a difference. Not in our years but the earlier models. Remember the '65 to 68 FASTBACKS? We do not called them '65 to '68 Sportsroofs?
FORD changed the name from fastback to sportsroof in our year '69.
