I have a 351 W in my 69 fastback w/AOD tranny. I need to replace my headers and am not sure which way to go. Most Headers vary in price, some cheap some expensive, I'd like to go midrange on the cost, but have a decent product too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I like hooker comp. headers. But mine are long tube, you may want to get some JBA shorties.

What are the differences in performance between the shorties and long tubes? Any pros & cons?

All I can tell you is that Hedman long-tubes WILL fit around an AOD, as that is my combination, should you decide to go that route.

Thanks Zeke,

I'm now looking at the Hedman Tork Steps, do you think they will work with the AOD?

The headers featured in the above link are, in fact, my exact models.

I've had a set of "Hedman Hedders" part #88300 on my 351W with FMX tranny since April 85. I just recently replaced them with the same Hedders but with the Jet-Hot sterling coating. Very nice but not cheap.

I've got the other headers, with their rusty finish. They're yours for $10 (cost/time to pack and ship) plus actual cost of UPS ground shipping. If not they just go in the trash. They could easily be sanded and painted (lots of elbow grease.) They're not rusted out.
