I found what was causing the leak in the cowling. The top of the clutch pedal sticks up so far that it hit the cowl pan. Looking at it it looks as though someone cut the hole for the pedal to stick out of the cowl pan. I tried to close the hole so the metal could be welded shut, but when you press on the clutch pedal it opens the hole again. Should the clutch pedal be up so far? I looked under the dash at it and it has a spring attached to it at the top but nothing else. Anyone have any ideas on this? This is the first time I have seen something like this. I double checked my VIN number to see if the car was converted to a standard traansmission b ut according to the records it is a stock standard transmission that came with the car. Any ideas would be great. Thanks
