Can anyone tell me when changing over from C4 to AOD if I need to change the yoke?
I know about the cable,crossmember,flexplate,mount,shorten drive shaft,etc.
thanks

As for the c-4 yoke, I have heard it would work fine, but I have no first hand experience to speak of. Both are the same spline on the tranny end, 28, although there are different variations on the universal end. You could get an AOD yoke and just have it on-hand just incase, they’re cheap at the junkyard.
Mustangs and Fords magazine writes
"The Street Terminator Lock Up has a 28-spline output shaft, as does the C4, whereas the C6 shaft used a 31-spline output. What all this means is that in some cases an AOD will slip right in without any modifications, while other situations may need driveshaft, slip-yoke, and/or crossmember revisions."
Modern Driveline also writes
Both T-5 and Tremec 3550/II use a 28 spline yoke which is the same as a C4, toploader or AOD. 3 speeds and T-10 4 speeds transmissions used 25 spline slip yoke so a replacement is needed. Tremec TKO come with a new 31 spline slip yoke in the box ready to be installed
So basically what its saying is that there are so many combos out there that its hard to say what you'll need, but its a good chance that you'll be ok. Both sources are reputable.
If you don't even have the same engine, then maybe some of the other components are different also????
I know my fmx yoke would not work.
This is where i got my slip yoke at.....

I had to use a front conversion u-joint......see this post
http://www.1969stang.com/mustangforum/viewtopic.php?t=313
It the most common conversion joint spicer makes.... I don't know the number, although i could find out if you need.
If you want to ensure that your driveshaft will fit or just so you know, this is what I would do if I were you, measure the drive shaft from center of the front u-joint to the center of the rear joint. Compared to mine, this will tell you if you need to shorten the shaft.
Here are some other cool links for info.....

Be sure to check out windsorfox.com they have a lot of information on AOD conversions. Sometimes they are painfully slow at delivering stuff, but they're known as the best.....

i don't consider them as the best on aods, but maybe on 5.0 swaps. there is good info to be had from them though. whatever you do, don't order anything from w/f. the price mark-up is INSANE. everything that they offer can be had other places for almost half of their price. there is good info on their site though.
