I love any color as long as it's nice. Me personally? Black.

Well my bodyman mentioned a charcoal grey and im still considering it. He mentioned black stripe(s) But i may go with blue stripes if i go with a charcoal grey metallic just to be different.
Heres some with pics of 69 coupes with similar scheme w/black stripes: http://www.1969stang.com/gallery/paintideas

i don't know man. silvers and greys are getting pretty played out right now because of all the show cars that are being painted those colors. one of my favorite 69 colors was always royal maroon. i think that would look good with a blackout hood or even black or charcoal grey. one thing i've always thought would look way cool would be to do the boss/mach blackout in a different color, like titanium or something like that, not silver or grey but kinda in between but flat instead of a gloss. the flat paint on my hood is a base/clear and it is absolutely awesome in person. the same thing could be done with another color as well. black or dark blue would look good with this treatment as well and i've never seen another car done that way ever!!! just throwing out ideas

I have a 69 that I'm going to paint Pearl white(2002 Cadillac/ Paint sample), original raven black mach 1. This may be grounds for charges BUT, U know its so pretty!!!! I also want black-out like the 69 BOSS w/o the c-strip on the side. This should be beautiful w/ DLX. blk guts. Speaking of , I'm debating my red accents from the original mach interior. That comes later though

I've always liked solid colors, the 69 is pearl black with the flat hood and GT stripes. But, yellow, has always been one of my favorite colors on mustangs, my 68 is chrome yellow with a black top. The only 69s I've seen in yellow are the Boss mustangs, maybe consider that??

I am right with ya on this dilema as well. I know alot of folks say "it's just paint" but quality prices are so high that I personaly can't help but overanalyze the whole thing to death about what I like vs. what I will continue to like.
Since my car is never going to be highly original as it was before the accident I have decided that picking a true 69' color is no longer necessary and the original color was never really an option anyway. Currently I am searching for just the right shade of steely blueish gray gunmetal whatever. I have seen nice shades on a variety of cars but not sure of the exact shade yet. I am also adding some Shelby glass a blacked out tail panel, probably keep the black Mach 1 hood and then either GT body stripe again or amid body one or custom Boss type one. Still fooling around with Photoshop until I can decide.

Black first, Gulfstream Aqua second.
Royal Maroon is nice. Titty pink looks good if the body has been blocked three times and the clear is color sanded and buffed.
The acqa is always prettier in person than in photographs.

Yeah my vert was Gulfstream Aqua, I did get used to it after a while even though it wasn't as blue as I had hoped for initially. I don't think I would go back to it after all the work I have to do though, if it was just a repaint I'd have kept it.

The prettiest Mach 1 I ever saw was Gulfstream Aqua. The guy had repainted in the old Dupont Imron with lots of clear.
How do you feel about Grabber Blue or Calypso Coral from the 1970 line up?

The blue does not grab me and the car was actually Calypso Corral underneath the Aqua and over the original lime gold. It looks like a abd faded shade of lipstick to me, not a fan at all. If I did choose a 69 color it would probably be Black Jade or Presidential Blue.

Here's an interesting link to the 69 colors.
The Presidential Blue does look good. I don't belive I've ever seen it before, but if I have, I assumed it was Acupulco Blue.

Bright Gold metalic.
I know I debated this a lot when painting my Mach. I always wanted something classic, so first I was thinking a nice midnight blue or black (anything but arrest-me-red). But when I stripped the car I found an orange-ish color on the cowl which I mistakenly thought was Grabber Orange. I'd always been a fan of the Boss Transam racecars so I decided I would do "school bus yellow" (i.e. a very orangey yellow very similar to Grabber Orange), which is what was used on the original transam racecars. Then I ordered my Marti report...
Well, when I got the Marti report, it indicated the original color was in fact Bright Gold metalic. Wrench in the works, I found some pics of various '70s in Bright Gold metalic and decided I liked it a lot. It's unique and a very classic color so I went with it. One of the best decisions I've made.
