OK, i want to do an AOD swap because i do a lot of highway driving...problem is that i have a 390 and can't seem to find one that is compatible with that engine...anyone know of one?

if you want od for your 390, of for a add-on overdriver like gear vendors......

look down about 3/4 page for the fe conversion........it ain't cheap

Evil neo, Trinity is right "it ain't cheap". I'm in the middle of the same thing right now. The gear vendor unit is rock solid, but very exspensive. I like the ford AOD unit but again according to the tranny guy the shift sequence in a classic mustang is a little funky. I ended up ordering a 5 speed conversion kit from modern driveline. I've yet to put it in......I'll keep you all posted.

Here's the breakdown,

AOD conversion approx. 2000.00 plus install
5sp conversion approx. 2800.00 plus install
Gear vendor approx 3000.00 plus intall (not positive)
