I heard about that show from a friend that watched it. I agree 100% with you on the total destruction of good classics or any nice sports car. What a waste !!!!!!!!!!

a lot of time they will use trashed out rusted cars that really aren't good for anything but parts in those crash scenes, hopefully that was the case with this one.

i have heard this alot of times and i buy it most of the time but as we all know there is very little that cant be bought repo for a mustang

the one in this show runs and drives and was deemed at the very least safe for a stuntman to drive
which means it had to be miles above where the small little scrap of what used to be a 69 fastback that i now own is and as one who WISHESHEHADA69FASTBACKAGAIN (and yes i know it was a 70) i would of gladly bought what they called a rusted partscar and givin them the one i have

i dont mean to sound like im coming down on you cause im not

it is just this is a sore spot with me partly cause i used to own 4 different 69 chargers and all of them needed front fenders and just watching all those charger fenders drivin into the ground (litterally)
thanks to the dukes of hazard and many many other tv shows and movies and i know the guy who ended up with ALL the left over dukescars/parts personelly and was told how good or bad the stuff was
but at the same time those cars were manly bought out of the western states (little or no rust) so what they call junk would of been gold to me

sorry for the rant and ill get over it now and off my soapbox

Well, I get your point and I do hate to see any good car get wrecked new or old but I wouldn't necessarily place the original Dukes TV show in that category, the Charger was just a 10 year old car back then, not a classic yet.

well to me the 68-70 chargers just like the 69 mustangs were instant classics some of the best looking steel to ever come out of any design studio but i get your point also all of the cars we now hold as precious and are breaking our backs to rebuild were just at one point a "car" even a boss 429 or the hemi cudas were just....... cars

when i walk through a junkyard i just cant help to think that at one point the rusted carcass of whatever car im looking at was once a shiney new car that some car salesman pushed and sold to feed his family

I get infuriated at movies and tv shows like this, it's a waste. If you're going to blow something up, at least do it to something that's still being made and in abundance. Leave the classics alone, rat cars or not.

Funny this is a subject. I've always hated seeing special cars destroyed and usually just won't watch anything like that. My 11 year old doesn't quite understand it yet but it's a big waste to me and he's starting to comment the same sometimes. Of course Hollywood would never understand...
