I was just given a 69 convertible and I have never restored a vehicle before. I am mechanically enclined. I am looking for pics, specs or replacement parts for the inner rear quarter panels. Its the part at the very top, which I believe is some sort of water trough. I'm also looking for the same info on the panel that goes between the rear window and trunk lid. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! If I can get pics or specs I can fabricate something. Thank you!!!

I highly reccomend you spend $40 or $50 bucks on the 5 volume set of Ford Shop manuals and maybe even the body assembly manual. Every single dimension and spec you could want is in there.

Also note for future reference that I too am rebuilding a vert and have recently purchased a full parts car of which much I do not need and will be selling off. I will have it completely stripped out by the spring with a little luck so let me know if there is anything you need to purchase, I won't be asking much at all.

Indeed that is a great suggestion. Those manuals are well worth the $40 or $50.

I think I know exactly what parts you are looking for, it is also the part that the rear tack strip bolts to. those parts are not available new, and I would sugest you take pictures of the parts you need and befriend pakrat, because that parts car will probably be your best source for the sheet metal you need (assuming its still there.) Hopefully there is enough of your car left to take measurements so you can accuratly weld in the replacement section.

Don't be afraid to list the parts you need, as lots of guys have parted out 69 convertible mustangs.

The original post was over 6 years ago and he never posted again. I hope he found what he was looking for. There's a particular member here (whose post has been deleted in this thread) who resurrects these old threads.

Wow, nice guy does he not got anything better to do ?? Course I guess it does get the post count up / make it look like there is more activity going on.

On two of my computers, the monitors are not the best so I can never read the dates above each post (not enough contrast between orange & brown).

The computer I'm on now, I can JUST read the dates so I wonder if this is why others post replies without realizing just how old the thread is.

Every once in a while a spambot dredges up an ancient thread and most people don't notice it's ancient. Yeah, the dates are hard to read. The only way I can do it is to highlight with my mouse.

That won't be happening anymore, I have determined that Brandon is either a spambot or just a spammer with way too much time. I've deleted posts and sent warnings only to have them return in 24hrs and then put a temporary ban in place and it started up again as soon as it lifted so who/whatever the case he's gone now, bub bye.:hang:
