Hello everyone, new to this site. Name is Dennis(dw192). I have recently been working on a 69 sportsroof, making it a Mach 1 clone. It has a 6 cyl in it and would like to go to a 351C with a C6 auto tranny. Any Advice??? I have already had the body work done. Car looks good, just need to find the time to get going again! Thanks for the help. dw192

should be a basic bolt in if the car originally had a 250 six cyl. if it had the 200 you will also need to upgrade the barkes suspension and rearend as wel. does your car have the five lug or 4lug wheels?

The car has 5 lug wheels, I have a set of Granada disc brakes for the front, just no time of late to put them on. What about motor mounts??

yes the motor mounts will need to be changed but i think the frame mounts are the same.

Good luck with your project.

Is there a particular reason you chose to go with a Cleavland over a windsor? Just curious what your deciding factor was, ie: I have a cleavland already. Back in the day it seems people always preffered the C over the W for it's capabilities, but now a days with the enormous aftermarket support for the W it seems people are thinking differently.

I agree w/Pakrat. There was a time (80's) that if you had a 351w you're car was considered a dog. At that time 351c was the way to go, and make no mistake the 351c would go like hell. But at this point it just make sense to go w/a 351w if for nothing else parts availability and how far performance has come.

But whatever you decide best of luck.

motor mounts are easy to find just get a set for a 69 with a 302 as they use the same mounts.

Well that is a good enough reason for sure. Using what you have to work with already makes a big difference in any build.
