headlight switch and dash question

first of all anyone change the headlight switch that can give me some tips? Nit sure how to get it off. Also I read the article bout changing the dash with an aftermarket. Anyone done this and modification did you have to do. Anyone make a retro one that really fits?

If i remember correctly there is a special tool to get the headlight swith out. But if your not worried about damaging it you can use a flathead screw driver to unscrew it. You have to pull the knob out first and then insert the screwdriver and turn it. Someone may come along with a better explaination i hope.

I purchased a dashpad off ebay that was non ford tooling and only thing i had to do was trim some of the underside to get a good fit. A little too much foam in some places such as the back corner. But it is pretty straight forward once you get in there.
