I'll be dropping my car off at the shop for the new drivetrain install today. Should take about a week.

The final (we all know they're never really final)upgrades are as follows.

-351w/400hp Built by the Engine Factory. So far I can't say enough nice things about these people. (fordcobraengines.com)
-T5 trans, Modern Driveline supplied complete conversion (moderndriveline.com)
-3.80 posi
-1 inch front sway bar
-underride traction bars
-Flaming river steering box
-JBA titanium coated shorty headers
-Assorted chrome dress up items
-completely repainted engine compartment

The install being done by Steve and Frank at Pure Vision Design. (purevisiondesign.com)

I'll get some photos and if I can get a little help from someone here I'll post them. To see what the car looked like before take a look on page 6 of the "introduce yourself" thread.

Pretty much all the parts purchased right off the web including engine and trans. What a long way things have come from when I first started w/these awesome cars 25 years ago.

I so excited I'm coming out of my skin over here!

Nice, I have been wondering what an all black scheme would look like. man I can't wait to have my car whole again, the thought of spring being right around the corner is killing me. :(

So it doesn't look like the work you are doing is out of necessity, the old pics are pretty tight looking.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody. My son and I dropped the car off and Steve tells me he'll have the engine and trans in by monday. After that it's just getting everything hooked back up.

I've owned the car for 10 years and it's always run great I was just getting a little bored w/the stock set-up. With so many things available now for these cars I thought it would be a fun project to do. So far I've learned the following,

-there are 2 different console inserts, manuel and auto. If you have an auto you can still install a manual, but if you have a manual you'll have to trim a bit to get the chrome auto shift selector to fit (learned that right here thank you guys)
-there are 2 different clutch, brake pedal assemblies, power and non power. Has to do w/where the master cylinder or booster attaches to the pedal. Non power has the spot on the pedal deeper in the pedal to allow for more support when pressure is applied.
-there are 2 different JBA shorty headers, cable clutch and non cable. JBA also recomends using 70 motor mounts if you have a 69 as it lifts the engine up about 1 inch and helps w/header clearance.
-if you use the march serpentine belt system you'll need to switch the lower radiator outlet from right to the left side. With this set-up and power steering you'll need to run an electric fuel pump.
-Chrome export brace install can be a bitch.
-Sand blasting small parts is worth every penny.
-Plastickote semi gloss paint looks great in the engine compartment (learned here again)
-Steam cleaning the engine compartment before you start saves a ton of time in prep.
-10 year old boys don't like sanding an engine compartment for more than 30 minutes at a time.

I'm sure there's more to come. I'll keep posting.
