Anyone got a really good tach that looks half way decent? Will the rally pak work on 69's? Anyone got any pics of their setup? I'm trying to come up with something that would blend in with the dash.

I wanted and needed a tach so bad when I switched to pertronix and retuned my car and timing that I just went with the ole Sunpro standbuy mounted on the column, old school looking but I like it. I had always wondered about doing a rally pack too though from a 66 or something. I see no reason why it wouldn't work and I wouoldn't mind having a clock as well I guess.

Honestly I think the sweetest option is the old Dixco style hood mounted tach, oh how I long for one but they are pretty pricey as far as tach's go.

Yea I thought the hood mount. I really would like a tach that looks like its part of the factory look so I thought about the rally pac. I was thinking about the pillar post idea but I never got an answer back from the seller if they made a tach that small for it.

I have a classic look Shelby tach, all chrome, looks really good. I wish I could tell you where to get it but it came with the car when I bought 4 years ago, here's a pic.

JME now makes a direct-replacement, complete instrument panel for '69s and '70s. Uses Autometer gauges (tach, speedo, oil press, temp, voltmeter, fuel gauge) and is available in black, woodgrain, or brushed alum. The unit's harness plugs right into the factory harness....or so I've read.

They're not cheap though. And if you're into "original", they're probably not what you'd want. I'd love to have them in my Mach, but the cost is a major factor.

I was lucky and got a tach off eBay for "only" $500 or so right before xmas. I've since seen them go up to $1200! And this is an 120 mph tach, not the super-rare 150 mph ones.
Anyway, they pop up on eBay from time to time.. you just gotta be ready, calm and have your paypal account full of cash. $1200 is a bit stiff ofcourse, but you may get lucky. If not, you know how the mopar guys have it.

It need a bit of cleaning up, but it came out nice. Got new lenses from Scott Drake. Couldn't see trough the old ones.

That's what I was looking for thanks. The car goes in next week for a complete interior restoration except for the dash. Still can't decide to do a cap or just a complete dash, but I figure I'm already there. At least I know I have a couple direction to go on the Tach. I can see going with the in dash tach and using the post pillar trim with gauge pods for the oil gauge. I guess it be kinda stretching it to ask if they repro the tach?
