Well the mission for this weekend was to pull the engine and get the bay cleaned up and prepped for painting.

As always things did not go as smoothly as planned. The phrase of the weekend was "damn headers!!" My dad, uncle, and I were undertaking this operation. Me and my pops got started pulling radiator, alternator, and all the other various things before we even got the engine puller from my grandfathers. With some help from my cousin and his truck we got it to the house and unloaded in my dads workplace's shop area. Then the fun began, we talked it over for several minutes. We figured it would be best to leave the transmission attatched and pull it all at once, but somehow talked our selves out of that and was just going to support the transmission from underneath.

Everything would have went smoothly if it wasn't for those damn headers! Which kept catching on the bellhousing while we were trying to pull the engine out. So we decided to drop the tranny all the way down etc. And we finally got the engine out. But not before we had transmission fluid everywhere, bent tranny line, and various other liquids and mess all over the place.

Heres the engine with headers still attached. The reason they are still on there is of how tight the 351 cleveland fits in the engine bay. The header shop that put them on had a time getting them in there. And there was no way for us to pull them ahead of time.

The transmission still looks nice and clean, but i havent drove the car much since we replaced it a few months back.

Heres a picture of the test panel of the metallic silver that my paint and body man wants me to go with. Decided i am not going to go with that color, all though that house of kolor paint looks great. I'll probably go with a Red, either metallic or a candy apple variation.

More pictures can be seen above. I had taken alot more engine bay shots and trunk shots. I recently had a new trunk floor put in as well as taillight panel and drivers floorpan.

Looks like you're all the way thru the car, engine, trans, paint, floors etc. Looking good. I like the silver test color. I can't wait to see it. When do you expect to finish?

Well the color does look good but its not what im looking for so im still exploring different variations of red. It will hopefully all be done in 2 months which includes paint. I still need to find the right color red. I want a deep looking candy type paint job. So candy apple red? Should finish prepping engine bay for paint next weekend and put eastwoods rust encapsulator double coat on and then some underhood black down. After that we still have several other things to do such as rewiring the car with a new style harness from EZ Wiring its not a direct plug and play but we think we got it covered. Dakota digital gauges soon to follow. (when i can get the cash together heh heh)

Also that HOK paint has a different look or darkness / lightness depending on the angle but its just not bright enough for me.
