idenitify a crank???

i just got the 375 stroke crank from a buddie. he says its a 4340 forged eagle crank. i just want to know, by looking at it, can i identify it as such?

also,while i'm at it, how do i tell what type of rear seal it takes, 1 or 2 piece. i can take pics if need be.

one piece seal should have a lrger seal area than the 2 piece, if i remember right the two piece also has an extra lip or flange on the inside part of the seal. know visual way i know of tell if the crank is actually 4340. but if it is forged it should have a fairly wide parting line, cast crank will hav a very sharp parting line.
