vaccum can location...

hello. we are trying to figure out where the vaccum cannister goes in our 69 mach. i think it goes under the battery. but, does it mount on the frame, on the battery tray. or does it mount through the inner fender. i looked at one on a cruise and if you looked at the inner fender on the pass. side, you could see the end of the can. if that is where it goes, how does it mount. the can has a bracket on it for mounting it.
this is driving me nuts. went through all my shop manuals and cannot find any info on this. if anyone can help with a diagram or pics, i would truly appreciate it. thanks. harold

Yes, I believe it is mounted on the passengers side under the fender. (someone correct me if im wrong) Cant tell you much more than that, but heres some pictures from mine of where and how is mounted.

the pics are correct for all mustangs from 67-70. it goes on the passnger side inner fender behind the wheel. towards back of car
