i have a 70' mustang and i'm havin lots of problems with the electrical system!! i need an electrical schematic, or someone with knowledge on this subject! the problem is when the signal light is on and the break is applyed the flasher fuse blows! now the signal and hazard lights don't work! the funny thing is that when i put the wire tester on the signal wire in the steering collumn the wire tester will start flashing and the flaher unit will start clicking, but no signal lights come on! if anyone can help please email me at Brent_Herget@hotmail.com

Can't really answer your questions, these things tend to be complicated and only further investigation in your car will give the answer.
Anyway, perhaps these scematics will help you some

thanks for the schematic's! i'm still looking for a short or something but still can't find anything! so i think i'll either get my buddy to have a look at it or just get a new wiring harnes.

i would check the turn signal switch before you replace the harness, it is possible for one of the wires to short out inside the column, i had that happen on my 70 cougar

yea i took the steering collumn apart and found that the hazard switch was fried...(my fault  ) and two of the contact points in where the hazard switch is, were melted into the plactic casing!so i'm getting a new steering collumn harness! $200..... , hopefully after this is replaced all goes well! thanks
