JUST ORDERED EVERYTHING TO MAKE MYSELF A SET OF CUSTOM ADJUSTABLE STRUT RODS. I'LL BE DOING A GOOD WRITE UP AND IT'LL BE HERE AND ON MY SITE ALSO. I'LL HAVE A COMPLETE TOUTORIAL ON HOW WHY WHERE...

FOR THOES OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW, THIS IS ONE OF THE WEAKEST POINTS ON A CLASSIC MUSTANG! I HAD ONE SNAP WHILE GOING OVER SOME FEIRLY SMALL BUMPS. I WAS USING URATHANE STRUT ROD BUSHING AND IT CRAEATED ALOT OF UNDUE STRESS ON THE ROD, CAUSING IT TO SNAP.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST IF YOU ARE RUNNING STIFFER BUSHINGS UP FRONT ON THE STRUT RODS, GET RID OF THEM! REPLACE THEM WITH RUBBER! OR GET/MAKE SOLID, ADJUSTABLE RODS LIKE TCP/STREETORTRACK SELLS!

HERE'S THE PAGE I MADE SHORTLY AFTER MINE BROKE(THE PIC IS MINE)

finally got the box from afco today. i got 2 11" swedged tubes, 2 lh hd steering rod ends, 4 jam nuts. now that i have the rod ends, i can start building the brackets. this shouldn't really take that long.

for those of you who don't know, i broke a strut rod a few months ago and this is my new purpose in life, to make my own strutrods.

Man I finally got my piece from the machinist. This is taking forever!

It’s clearly not done; I still need to put spacers and clean it up, and add the hole for the bolt. I know I got a few pm’s last time about it and thought I’d post a pic. Here is my page on why and how. When it’s complete, I’ll have dims and a complete write up.

eric, that's sweet bro. can't wait to get started on my suspension projects. i checked on the progress of my car at the body shop on friday and they have it about halfway stripped to the metal, so far i only have one patch panel to buy for the lower passenger quarter behind the wheelwell and that was mostly because of a dent but a little rust as well, i'll keep you posted on the progress
