Hello,

Long time listener, first time poster...

Just picked up this fastback locally. All CA car, pretty much all original. I am the third owner. Story is: last owner bought a wrecked 69 Mach 1 from a junkyard in 1976 with only one straight panel left on it. He found this F-code fastback (fwiw-250ci I6/V8 front suspension, 5 lug wheels, sport package) and swapped engine/trans/rear axle/dash over to this car. Pretty much all original except paint, ball joints, carpet, speakers (garbage), wheels/tires, brake pads, air cleaner, carb. Also has a 69 Ford hi-po intake manifold. It is a project, needs everything. No major rust, just usual spots on bottom front of doors. New starter goes in tomorrow. Yay!

The good stuff:

Show it some love and elbow grease and it could be a lot of fun, nice find.

Thanks for the compliments...

Driveway goes downhill then flattens out right before the garage. Yes it makes cars sit weird. :tongue_smilie:

Looks like a great project car to work on. Good luck and keep posting pictures as you go.

Welcome and good luck. So the F code had been de-spec'd once already to a 250 and then upgraded with the stuff from the Mach, interesting. Sounds like quite the potato head, who knows what you may find as you dig deeper.

What amazes me is that the old mustard top coil is still firing! Nice find and welcome to the forum.

Just ran into a couple problems, starter seems ok, maybe solenoid on fender. Took 15 tries to start last night. Also, engine wants to die when giving it gas, runs rough like it is either flooded or missfiring. Will be checking it out today.
