Hey guys. I have 69 Mach One with an AOD transmission. Right now I have the origina shifter. I would like to put in a B&M Hammer shifter (universal) which is laying around the house that I bought from Jeg's four years ago. The reason I didn't put is because I have to fabricate a plate to go over the drive tunnel and also this is pretty hard to shift. Maybe once I get the hang of it, it will be second nature. Anyway, I read an article in the September of Car Craft Magazine of an individual who modified his 69 Mach One and installed a B&M Hammer shifter- but the article doesn't explaing the modifications he made to make the shifter fit. The only thing that I noticed was that he removed the console and left the shifter there and put aftermarket gauges where the center a/c vents are located on the dash pad. If anyone has installed or has any ideas or tips to install the B&M shifter, please feel to post. Thanks.

I had a buddy put a Quicksliver shifter in his Mustang a while ago. It was just figure out where you want it, drill four holes, and bolt it in. The hardest part will be routing the cable so there's no kinks in it. But nothing a couple of zip ties couldn't take care of I'm sure.

Hey guys. I am getting around to having the universal B&M Hammer shifter installed at a trans shop in Santee. Have any of installed a B&M Hammer Shifter in an AODE. B&M told me I couldn't because their cables won't match up-have any of you attempted it to do it anyway? Please let me know asap because the tech is going to let me know how much it is going to cost in a couple of days.

I installed a B&M QuickSilver in my car. Does the transmission have the lever kit from B&M installed? I know the AOD(Not AODE) in my car needed a new lever installed in it in order for the cable to hook up correctly. Might try calling B&M's Tech line. You can install the console with an aftermarket shifter, it's just a pain in the a$$! Here's some pics of my console after I modified it to fit over the quicksilver. I moved the shifter back so it would be more comfortable. I have a rollbar and 5 point harnesses, so everything had to be accessible when I was strapped in. I have switches for the fuel pump, ignition, nitrous arm, nitrous purge, O/D switch, transbrake, line-lock, and a starter switch. The shifter itself had to have the front ear that the cover bolts to removed. The cover plate is from B&M, it's the one for a quickSilver Console shifter from a Camaro! I don't have any pics of the console installed yet, but will have as soon as I get the wiring under the dash to match. Hope this helps, or even just gives you some ideas.
